Celebration of the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet

Celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday

Under the patronage of Dr. Qahtan Neama Al-Khafaji, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bayt al-Hikma, and under the slogan “And indeed, you are of a great moral character – Muhammad is our role model, and the Qur’an is our guiding path”, the Department of Public Relations and Media at Bayt al-Hikma, in cooperation with the National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance, organized a celebration marking the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). The event was held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Al-Khwarizmi Hall in Bayt al-Hikma.

The celebration began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Dr. Rafi’ Al-Amiri from Al-Imam Al-Kadhim College, followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha in honor of the souls of Iraq’s martyrs.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Qahtan Neama Al-Khafaji highlighted the eternal human values embodied in the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). He emphasized that this blessed occasion should serve as an opportunity for reflection, reaffirming moral and professional commitments, and strengthening values of cooperation and dedication in all fields of work.

Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Nouri, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance, reflected on the character of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), shedding light on the lessons drawn from his noble life in spreading Islam. He further pointed out the virtues of righteous leaders and saints who carried the Qur’an as a guiding light, calling for deeper study of the Prophet’s character within the Qur’anic framework.

Sheikh Dr. Haider Al-Shammari, Professor of Political Thought at Al-Imam Al-Sadiq University, also delivered a speech, in which he outlined the reasons behind celebrating the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). He emphasized the profound religious and spiritual ties that bind Muslims to the Prophet, describing them as an integral part of the civilizational fabric of history and cultural heritage. He also highlighted the pioneering foundations laid down by the Prophet, most notably the promotion of peaceful coexistence and fraternity among all people.

The celebration also featured poetic recitations by Dr. Hussein Al-Qasid, in addition to devotional chants performed by the “Noon” religious choir affiliated with the General Secretariat of Religious Shrines at the Shiite Endowment Office.
