 War and Peace Between the Philosophical Mind and the Ideological Dimension 
As part of the academic activities of its scientific departments, the Department of Philosophical Studies at Bayt Al-Hikma (House of Wisdom) held a scientific seminar titled "War and Peace Between the Philosophical Mind and the Ideological Dimension" on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Al-Maraya Hall, Bayt Al-Hikma.
The session was headed by Prof. Dr. Hassan Hammoud Al-Ta'i , from the College of Arts, and rapportuerd  by Mrs. Saja Emad Oraibi from the Department of Philosophical Studies at Bayt Al-Hikma.
The seminar highlighted the philosophical theories that establish security and peace within society, the state, and even the individuals . It focused on the solutions philosophers have proposed at different era of history, presenting their ideas and contributions that have enriched contemporary philosophical discourse with a wealth of theories.  These theories are explained by the researchers   from a philosophical perspective.
A group of specialized researchers participated in the session. Professor Dr. Hassan Majeed Al-Obaidi presented a research paper titled "War: Its Causes and Justifications According to Greek and Muslim Arab Philosophers."  He explored questions about philosophers' attitudes  towards  war and  their writings about it , particularly in  political and ethical works. He also discussed how philosophers expressed the nature, effects, and outcomes of war based on lived experiences during their time, witnessing battles between nations, peoples, and civilizations.
 Dr. Hadeel Saadi Musa also participated with a research paper titled "The Dialogue of War and Peace in Ibn Khaldun's Philosophy." She used a comparative, descriptive, and analytical approach to review four studies by Iraqi philosophers on Ibn Khaldun's philosophy of war and peace from a contemporary philosophical perspective.
Furthermore, Dr. Rifqa Raad Khalil from  College of Arts presented a research paper titled "A Philosophical Vision of Concept and Practice." She discussed methods for establishing the concept of peace and finding its proper place within politics as a means of managing nations and peoples. She also covered the transformation of peace into a lived reality with a complete structure and fair conditions for all, reviewing various philosophical theories on the concepts of war and peace.
Finally, the head of the Department of Philosophical Studies, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Najm, presented certificates of appreciation to the participating researchers in the seminar, which featured an interactive dialogue among the researchers, specialized academic professors, and attendees,whose  interventions and comments greatly enriched the discussion.
