Foundations for Stimulating the Emerging Economy
In the framework of cooperation between Bayt Al-Hikma (House of Wisdom) and various research and study centers, the Economic Studies Department collaborated with Osool Foundation for Economic Development and Sustainable Development to hold a joint dialogue session titled "Foundations for Stimulating the Emerging Economy" on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in Al-Maraya Hall at Bayt Al-Hikma, in the presence of the Head of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Qahtan Ni'ma Hassan Al-Khafaji.
The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Fallah Hassan Thuwaini, Supervisor of the Economic Studies Department at Bayt Al-Hikma, and hosted an elite group of specialists in the fields of economics and energy. The participants included: Dr. Khalid Al-Jabri, Chairman of Osool Foundation for Economic Development and Sustainable Development; Dr. Muthhar Mohammed Salih, advisor of the Prime Minister for Economic Affairs; Dr. Fallah Jasim Al-Amiri, Advisor of the Prime Minister for Energy Affairs; and Mr. Raed Abdul-Hassan, Assistant Director-General of the Companies Registrar Department. They discussed the session's themes, which included: encouraging emerging projects to comply with tax regulations, raising awareness of the role of taxes as an important pillar for supporting the national economy, exploring financing mechanisms for entrepreneurial and emerging projects, and studying the empowerment of entrepreneurs to understand and apply tax systems fairly and transparently, along with presenting the role of the Companies Registrar Department in fostering the entrepreneurship environment.
An open discussion space was provided for young businessmen with emerging economic projects, to discuss challenges and propose ideas, aiming to identify the most significant problems they face and contribute to finding necessary solutions.
The lecture aims to encourage investment in innovation and new energies, highlight the most important risks facing the Iraqi economy and the ways emerging economies can overcome the issue of fragility in developing countries, and outline the procedures for advancing the reality of the Iraqi economy and redirecting oil revenues to be used effectively.
