Delegation of the Higher Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of Tax Reform

The Head of the Board of Trustees of Bayt Al-Hikma (House of Wisdom) , Dr. Qahtan Ni'ma Al-Khafaji, received in his office on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, a delegation from the Higher Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of Tax Reform, headed by Mr. Khaled Jamal Al-Jabiri, a member of the committee and Chairman of Osool Foundation for Economic and Sustainable Development, Mr. Atheer Al-Zubaidi, Director of Government Relations, and Mrs. Huda Thamer, Office Manager.
This meeting was to discuss holding the First Tax Conference of the Higher Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of Tax Reform, which will be held on August 25, 2025, under the patronage of the Prime Minister , with the participation of all government institutions and a high-level international presence. The conference is of major economic importance in improving the Iraqi business environment and organizing mechanisms to attract investment, which will consequently activate the Iraqi economy and increase the gross domestic product.
Dr. Al-khafaji welcomed the guests, emphasizing the establishment commitment to maintaining continuous communication with government institutions , and expressing full readiness to make available all of the scientific, research, and logistical capabilities of the House of Wisdom , as well as to contribute to the success of the First Tax Conference, as well as studies, researches , and expert consultants in the scientific departments to support the conference's themes.
For his part, the Committee Chairman appreciated the scientific and academic cooperation provided by the House of Wisdom Foundation, stressing the need to implement educational programs on the sidelines of the conference outcomes, with the aim of raising awareness of the new tax law and studying ways to facilitate tax procedures. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Haider Qasim Al-Tamimi, the Secretary-General of the House of Wisdom, Dr. Muhannad Abdul Hassan , Board of Trustees member and the Supervisor of the Department of Economic Studies, Prof. Dr. Falah Hassan Thuwaini.
