Supporting Leadership for Energy and Environmental Sustainability
Dr. Qahtan Naama Al-Khafaji, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baytal-Hikma, participated in the specialized workshop organized by the Higher Institute for Leaders Training and Qualification, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The workshop was held from August 31 to September 1, 2025, with the participation of senior leadership figures, including deputy ministers and director generals from regulatory and administrative departments in ministries and independent government bodies.
The workshop aimed to empower government leaders to achieve the second goal of the National Initiative’s Energy Support and Emissions Reduction Strategy, which focuses on gradually transforming government buildings to enhance energy efficiency, improve environmental standards, and ensure occupational safety.
On the sidelines of the event, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baytal-Hikma highlighted the institution’s efforts in the fields of energy and environment through the conferences, seminars, and workshops it has organized, which align with the objectives of the national initiative and have had a significant impact on raising environmental awareness.
The workshop was delivered by international trainer Osama Al-Omari from UNDP, who presented the goals, programs, and plans of the National Initiative, along with an overview of the achievements made by the teams formed within institutions, ministries, and commissions to support the initiative.
